Vicky Park's Testimonial
When I first took the beginners tooth waxing class,
I felt a bit lost and was afraid of making any mistakes as it was a completely
new form of learning. However, by knowing I was able to follow such detailed
directions successfully gave me the confidence to pass my learning to others. Through
these classes I have also learned that I prefer building crowns over dentures
maybe because I am still a novice and color coordination served as my training
wheels.
I am a strong visual learner and using different
colored wax through different steps of the process solidified the techniques in
my memory. Using my strength I knew I was able to guide others to follow the
colors and their corresponding shapes.
Working with dentures however was a bit more
challenging. Using only one color of wax and angles becoming crucial in
perfecting the product required a lot more precision. Attention to angles,
arches, and apertures all at the same time was required making first timers
like us a stressful challenge. Nevertheless, with practice I know that this too
can become second nature in the future. And TA-ing gave me my first opportunity
to practice and perfect my skills before entering dental school. (Word Count:
